Als freischaffender bildender Künstler setze ich mich seit fast 40 Jahren mit architektonischen und räumlichen Situationen auseinander. Anhand architektonisch-räumlicher Vorgaben entwickle ich künstlerische Konzepte zur Artikulation und Verständigung von Raum, Zeit und Ort, und zur Orientierung des Menschen darin. Idee dieser Konzepte ist es, bestehende Raumsituationen zusammen mit künstlerischen Eingriffen zu einer erfahrbaren Einheit zu verbinden. Viele der Installationen sind als ortsbezogene und temporäre Eingriffe angelegt, oft zeitlich beschränkt sicht- und wahrnehmbar, und weder mobil noch einfach handelbar. Neben ortsbezogenen Installationen und Interventionen umfasst meine künstlerische Arbeit auch Kunst im öffentlichen Raum, Objekte, Bilder, Papierarbeiten und Drucke.

Mit meiner Arbeitsweise möchte ich den Betrachterinnen und Betrachtern die Subjektivität unserer Wahrnehmung vor Augen führen, welche durch die Interaktion zwischen Intervention/Installation/Objekt/Bild und der Umgebung eine neue, unverstellte Wahrnehmung von Ort und Raum, Regel und Abweichung, Dimension und Proportion, Zeigen und Verbergen und deren vielfältiger Bezüge ermöglicht.

As a freelance visual artist, I have been dealing with architectural and spatial situations for almost 40 years. I develop artistic concepts for the articulation and understanding of space, time and place, and for the orientation of people within them, on the basis of architectural and spatial specifications. The idea behind these concepts is to combine existing spatial situations with artistic interventions to create a tangible unity. Many of the installations are designed as site-specific and temporary interventions, often visible and perceptible for a limited period of time, and neither mobile nor easy to handle. In addition to site-specific installations and interventions, my artistic work also includes art in public spaces, objects, paintings, works on paper and prints.

With my working method, I would like to make the viewer aware of the subjectivity of our perception, which, through the interaction between intervention/installation/object/image and the environment, enables a new, undisguised perception of place and space, rule and deviation, dimension and proportion, showing and concealing and their diverse references.
